The City of Brampton has been given the go ahead from Peel Public Health to open the Brampton Farmers market. The popular Downtown Brampton attraction will be open from June 27 to October 24 – a total of 18 weeks. The market will run from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Mayor Brown said that the opening of the market “is going to be a great opportunity to support local businesses and local produce.” This news comes as a relief for vendors who rely on the Farmer’s Market as a key source of revenue and customers.

Visitors will be required to wear a face mask and the number of people at any given time will be limited. Mayor Brown also recommended that only one member per household should be attending the Farmer’s Market so the city can ensure that people are following the social-distancing guidelines.

As other areas of the province are entering Phase 2 of economic reopening, this announcement is a hopeful sign for local businesses that Brampton may also be entering Phase 2.
