Canada Summer Jobs 2018

Want a paid summer internship? We are looking for high school and university students to help with our media and online initiatives. We look forward to reviewing applicants that meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 10 or higher
  • Returning to high school or university in the Fall
  • Can work independently with access to a computer, internet and mobile phone
  • Willing to take initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Willing to learn new skills and be mentored
  • Enjoys teamwork
  • Able to work 8 consecutive weeks starting in June
  • Able to work 30 hours per week

Our summer interns are given the opportunity to contribute their unique skills and learn in a supportive team environment. You will be involved in one or more projects that involve community engagement, content development, public speaking, video production, partnership building and sponsor development. You will be interacting with members of the public in community events and neighborhoods across the city. Our major projects include Neighborhood Watch Brampton, Brampton Focus social video production, online community hubs, and community newspaper development. The position is community based, meaning you will be home based and primarily working in the community and meeting weekly as a team in community venues.

You will be given the flexibility to manage your time. However, you must be able to spend 30 hours each week on assigned projects, and participate in community events. Many events are schedule in the evenings and weekends. By the end of the summer, you will have developed communication and community development skills that will be valuable in your future endeavours.

Hourly wage: $14/hour
