Brampton Focus receives feedback and questions from residents all the time about what’s going on around the city. Garbage is always at the top of the list. We’ve had a few months to test out the new garbage, recycling and compost carts and the Region of Peel is now ready to accept returns and replacements. Repairing or Replacing a Cart
Carts that are damaged, broken, lost or stolen will be repaired or replaced, free of charge, except in the case of negligence.
Exchanging For a Different Size
Carts cannot be exchanged until April 1, 2016. Your garbage and recycling carts need to store two weeks’ worth of waste. Using the carts you’ve received for a few months will help you decide if they’re the right size. From April 1 to April 30, 2016 cart exchanges are free.
Starting May 1, 2016, an exchange fee of $25 per cart will apply. This fee covers the cost to pick up and clean your carts as well as deliver and register new carts.
