The William Osler Health System will begin taking down their temporary triage tents on hospital sites, citing their lack of use during the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective immediately, the tents outside Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital will seize operations.

The tents were generously provided and installed by GlobalMedic, a Canadian charity program that provides disaster-relief services.

Osler claims the tents were established to provide added capacity to the hospital during the pandemic’s most trying times. They have widely remained unused since.

“We continue to evaluate our efforts, as well as implement new strategies to help address what could be potentially-higher volumes of patients coming to our hospitals during any further waves into the fall”, said Executive Vice President Kiki Ferrari.

Osler’s COVID-19 assessment centre at South Fletcher’s Sportsplex remains operational.
