Brampton events and festivals cancelled through to Sept 7

In response to COVID-19, the City of Brampton has mandated the cancellation of all event and festival permits until Labour Day. This extended cancellation will affect all events at city facilities and performing arts venues, including The Rose Theatre.

The decision was made in cooperation with Peel Public Health experts and neighbouring jurisdictions to ensure public safety and prevention of COVID-19 spread. The City has stated a commitment to working with event organizers and rental clients to mitigate the impacts of these cancellations and to determine potential future dates.

Although numerous festivals and venues have been cancelled, many workshops and events have already moved to online platforms. A list of events with online venues can be found at the City of Brampton Events page.

It appears the Brampton Farmer’s Market will continue to be open, through to October. The city has not provided an update as to any changes to market operations in light of this announcement.
