Brampton Tamil Seniors Celebrate 3rd Anniversary

It was a full house at the Brampton Tamil Seniors’ Association’s 3rd Anniversary Celebration on Friday at Gore Meadows Community Centre in Brampton, Ontario. The event highlighted the achievements of the Tamil Seniors Community in keeping seniors connected with each other and the community. The event was attended by local City Councillors, MP’s, and leaders of political parties. Energetic performances celebrated Tamil culture and customs. Members from the Chinese Community also attended and presented a beautiful dance for a Tamil folk song.

The Brampton Tamil Seniors’ Association has 200 members and organizes skills development programs such as computer classes to seniors. The organization also publishes a magazine that highlights the work the organization is doing in the community. The magazine  helps the elderly stay connected to each other and members of their community by being informed of local events and resources.

Proceeds collected at the event support William Osler Health Care Foundation and the new Peel Memorial Health Centre.
